    OK thanks for clearing that up. I thought maybe I could make a mock kamisori. I guess not

    Go, for it. What’s the worst that could happen?

    Probably a Kamisori, shaped object, will be a bit of work though.

    You would end up with a microtome. Flat on one side hollow on the other.

    Kamisori are double hollow ground, microtomes are flat on one side.

    Solitary, have you ever shaved with a kamisori? I see them on ebay for little $$, was thinking about getting a couple to hone on for the experience.

    No I never have shaved with one. Seen like they would be fun to use and hone. I see them for cheap but I don't know enough about them to make a good buy.

    I reread your post, I got what you were saying. That reground result would be 5mm or so wide, it will not be very useful for anything.
