OK, 2 layers, 1K, did about 25 light rolling X strokes to focus on the toe. Here's heel to toe, toe to heel...

OK, so now do the same on your 4k & let's see what happens.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Thanked: 3215Still looks chippy on the other side, but the bevel look much better/flatter. See what happens on the 4k.
I would joint it and start with a fresh, straight edge.

Judging from the scratch patterns, I suspect the chippy section is part of the warp & not getting equal contact on both sides. Viewing the 4k polish will accentuate this if it is the problem.

I'll give it a go tomorrow night (I was gone all day today, attending a class, pretty exhausted). I have a Naniwa 2k (forgot I bought that later on). Will try that and then the 4K.

Thanked: 3795The 2k does seem to have improved the bevel/edge, however, you don't seem to be reaching all the way to the edge at the heel on the 4k. Did you forget to change the tape or something?
