I thought that you had 99.5% nailed it until I saw the burr/fin in the Norton pix.

Thanked: 3795Actually, to my eye that is not a burr or fin. I think it is a part of the 4k bevel that does not go all the way to the edge. That is why I asked about the taping. If the tape near the heel end of the spine wore down, that would cause the edge to not reach the hone.

Possibly fresh tape & a few more strokes will correct that.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.

Did quite a few strokes on the 4K. I think I may have had too much pressure (trying to do the rolling X). I lightened up a bit and it seems better. Here's where I'm at now.
Still looks like a few light horizontal lines, and the middle is better on the right side (when looking at the edge with the heel towards me.Regards,
