    Default Takeda Hones

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the different hones offered on Shosui Takeda's website http://shop.niimi.okayama.jp/kajiya/en/index_e.html.
I would like to know which ones would be most suitable as a finishing hone. Approximate grit sizes of each stone would also be appreciated.
I have tried to email directly, but as yet I have not received a reply.
    Regards,
    Alex

His email can be a bit slow. Not to worry though they will get back to you.

I have placed a few orders with him and they never miss a beat. My last order was a split order, one was ready apon order the other would take a month or so. Right about that time I got notice that my ordr was shipped.

I also got an AS razor blank from him that I'm still having trouble deciding what to do with, haha I'm not a blade forger so I'd have to find someone able to forge the rest of the blank so it can be finnished. Not something I'm ready to do at the moment, kind of cool though having the birth point of many knives and razors

Shuko always replied to me very quickly but I guess it depends how busy they are. I think the longest wait I had was around two months for a custom knife.

What do you mean by a blank DwarvenC? Just a piece of aogami S or one that has been roughly forged to shaped but requires grinding and shaping?

It's a "block" of anealed AS in the general shape of a razor. Nothing has been ground or cut out yet as it needs hammered into shape and cut/ground, heat treated and final grinding. So its about as blank as it can get. Haha I was in a weird mood when I ordered it, and I'm not unhappy that I did. It's kind of neat as a paper weight at the moment.

This is getting off-topic but I am very intrigued by this piece of steel you got!

    Please, keep us posted

    Cheers
