    Default Diagnosing blade trouble.

The wapieinca 5/8 I have been honing. Iam trying to diagnose what the problem it has is called. If you hold the razor straight to your face so you are looking at the tip and can see both sides of the blade, it looks as though one side has a steeper or crooked tapering of the blade. The very tip of the blade, or the part that looks like a v from the spine to the toe looks dull or uneven on one side. What kind of problem is this?

Sounds like sloppy grind work. The real issue is whether its severe enough to keep you from honing it and shaving with it. If you can't get it honed up you may need to send it out either to a honemeister for specialized honing or possible regrinding.

I created this problem myself. I was trying to hone out a chip on 1000k paper that was laid on my counter. The razor was lifted quite a bit off of the table and I believe this created the issue. The razor looked fine before (to my untrained eye at least)
