Here are some recent threads regarding Arkansas True Hard genuine Novaculite stones that are must reads. The only trusted vendor is Dan's Whetstones. Read the threads.

A little advice: Don't impede an 80,000 lbs. 18 wheeler tanker carrying hazardous chemicals.

    houston we have a problem...

i finally tried the tower brand razor that i honed the nagura progression on and i had a really (really) nice shave tonight. i dont know if it was the new razor, the edge i put on it, tonights soap(haslinger) or maybe everything combined but the shave was easily plenty sharp but had a slightly softer, more forgiving feel to it. i wonder if it truly was different, or just my mind making me think so.

either way, im kinda hooked on trying to hone more razors using nagura on the zulu grey. looks like i can put the 5k, 8k and 12k synths away for a while.

and i have a 8x2 hard translucent ark on the way.

Hey. I was wondering if you had any more thoughts on this since march? Have you been able to get a repeatable result? Is this still viable after time? Thanks. Thinking about doing this too when my Zulu gets here. If it ever gets here.

it is. and i have. zulu works well, for me at least, as a base stone for my nagura progression. which is good, because i still cant get an edge i like off of the coticles i have. i now also have two jnat finishers that im experimenting with as well. and i do like the edges i get from them.

    hope your zulu arrives soon!

Will also try a thuringian slurry on my zulu...
