    Congratulations Mike, your blade control is good. On smaller stones, I would humbly recommend that you continue to balance the stone more on your fingertips and arch the back of your hand upward, thumb down. For clearance reasons.

    And yes, I could see how that hold might have some advantages. But this particular stone is thick enough that it worked out ok.
