It really doesn't matter either way,,,
By the time the razor needs a touch up the bevel will have been beat back by your beard and corrected with stropping enough that the sub-micron difference between Tape and No tape is a moot point anyway..
Even when it is a fresh bevel it takes minimal laps,, to erase that minute difference...
