Okay, I've scrounged up some bubblewrap and stuff, so I'm planning on sending Josh my barber hones for his treatment. I figure, hang the expense, I'll just switch to cheap beer for a while. Actually, scratch that idea, I HATE cheap beer. Well, it'll all work out.

My thanks to Josh for undertaking the labor! I now have four freshly-lapped barber hones to try out. If only I could crack the stubborn secrets of honing, I might actually be able to test them...

Your off to the right start
Flat hones...
Your best bet is to just dive right in and do it. It takes a few attempts to get the right feel, but once there you'll be happy
