When I,m gone at work, I can be gone anywhere from 3 weeks to several months, the time frame is strictly up to how long it takes to get a well going, my longest time away from home was 9 months when I was in Saudia. My travel kit is pretty simple, I keep a DE with a couple packs of blades, and I bring 3 straights in a hard case, and brush soap and strop. If your stropping is good then 3 razors is plenty for even a long trip, and seeing how even my short trips are close to a month, I won't even be into the second straight. Point being it really doesn't take much for a travel kit. So far haven't hauled a stone yet. Tc

Thanked: 481Yep, the small profile and surprising range of use is why my Swaty goes into my travel bag. Easy to find space for a small 5 x 2 x 3/8 inch stone, and that by itself is all I need to hone just about anything.
But I'm a bit finnicky about all my bladed tools. I've been known to take a fresh razor blade from a pack of disposables for my scraper at work and touch them up on my Arkansas stones because the factory edge is too dull. I've got a set of hones that stays at work, multiple options at home, and carry them with me when I'm out of town. I should probably stuff a barber hone in the truck somewhere just to have all the bases covered.
