Thanked: 2Honers in Calgary?
Would like to know if there is anyone in Calgary that knows how to hone razors.
I am using a king delux 1200 and a 4/8K Norton.
I have been honning for a few years, but am still having some trouble. I have a couple razors. One I can get a decent shave, but am not sure if it will get sharper. Both have a slight smile. Another one I honed. I inked the edge and I can get the ink off in a couple of light passes. It feels sharp, but won't cut well. It will leave a lot of stubble. I'm having trouble with consistency and would like to find some help with getting over this.
Thanks,

While I'm across Canada in Ontario so won't be able to physically help I would highly suggest to spend more time on the king 1.2k sounds like your edge is not set on the razor that leaves lots of stubble.
That's always the first recommendation. Try getting your best edge. Stropping and shaving off 1.2k proceed to 4k try again and finally 8k.
I hope you find some one closer to help you out.

Hey Joe, give the crew over at Kent of Inglewood a call and see about stopping in for a visit. They have knowledgeable staff and a good honing setup in-store. We've worked with them a lot over the past few years and can vouch for their expertise.
