New to me hone. From famous "Honemeister"
Some here may know Master Shifu.
After many inquiries he has allowed me to purchase this vintage razor hone.
I'll be putting it through a thorough test once it arrives from PRC. To determine its grit and where it will fit in my progression.
According to the seller he sets the bevel on plain water then switches to lather and feather light pressure for the finishing. Will report my results. Ken

Probably wouldn't need much if any gear reduction.
Until the hone gets there to find the diameter for sure we will not know.

Was thinking a hit and miss would be period correct.

The variable speed of the hit and miss might make it hard to get use to the surface feet per minute of your hone....

I have one just like that. I rigged up some cables and a platform and put my husky in it and yell mush.
