Naniwa recommends not using soap on their hones, however there was a professional sharpener [ozark edger] at Howard Clark's meet that used Dawn daily to clean up his hones with no problems. Several people were taken back when he put the Dawn on.

Good to know. Thanks for the heads up. Was just thinking of something to help get the most out of the stone. Sure dont want to go with oil.
