Default Common honing mistakes on jnat?

Been working on pushing my jnat edge/honing skills. Razor (I practice with 2 easy to hone) usually goes to 8k synth before jnat. will go to 5k synth if jnat mistake happens and edge needs to be brought but no lower (Shaved with both razors one at 5k other at 8k to calibrate myself and check the bevel on razors both did very good on shave test). I get some very good jnat edges then sometimes the edge will go back to 5k range from some mistake.
Edges finished on tomo, stone is flat. I usually try not to spend to long on stone so I dont kill edge while not paying attention. (I will get it shave ready, do 20-40 laps shave, then another 20-40 laps and push edge as far as I can) I also use 2 tomo, one softer side other harder side both have given me good edges

Wanted to ask what are some common mistakes when honing with jnats. Also want to know what to look for when trying to push the edge farther. Is it mostly watching how thin/thick the slurry is and pressure or are there other factors I should be aware of when trying to improve my edge.

One thing I learned is to work the slurry thoroughly in the beginning to break it down and then slowly dilute it till finished. Though each jnat will behave differently so your experience could vary. Each stone has its own learning curve.

I've never used a jnat, but I do think a loupe has really helped my honing. Do you have any way of checking your edge under magnification?

I have a x60 loop with light but does not help me to much. Normally the bevel has a polished/hazy look even across the bevel. I have compared one of the great jnat edges to my normal jnat edge and my failed jnat edge under the loop and they look the same with my eyes and the loop. No bizare scratches or weird light reflections
