I appreciate your response but I could tell that my original comment was a bit foggy after reading your response. Funny how that we as individuals can often feel that what we’re saying is clear when in reality it may not be. If you don’t believe me just ask my better half to repeat something I said 3 minutes ago... ;-)

lightfoot,, no worries! I didn't think it was a bad comment. I didn't understand about the monitor, but there is lots I don't understand about tech stuff, I was just happy to get the dang thing to work the way I wanted it to.
the part about fixing the edges I took to mean about being carefull to not chase perfection, wich I can see being a problem with too high of magnification. I saw a blog where a fella took an electron microscope and really looked at some edges, and I can see where that would drive a person crazy. but being able to see what is happening and figure out what needs fixing and what doesn't is part of the fun I guess.
I think forums are a lot like texting, someone says one thing, and someone else reads the same thing and interprets it another way.

Well-said! It happens as you get an amplified view of things!
Then, interpretations of the images comes into play! Big fun!

Thanked: 3228Yea, always said I did not want to use a microscope and scare the crap out of myself when I see how bad the edges I shave with look at high magnification. OTH I can see how it would be an interesting experience.

Thanked: 0I have a similar scope that I use. There are some benefits over a handlense. Images are in stereo, so serations or marks are easier to see. Magnification is variable. You can go from 7 - 45X on my scope. And you can swap out the 10X eye piece to a 20X one and get even closer to whatever your looking at. I use mine for all sorts of things not just razors. Really handy devices.
