Default Are these chromium oxide crayons available?

At 2:01 he shows the chromium-oxide "crayon." I emailed Lynn and he no longer carries those. Where might I find one?

I have no idea why the post appears with a big space here..... video link is below this space.

Actually, I meant Ebay and at the time I posted the link wasn't working so I couldn't see the exact crayons he was talking about.

My point was that you can get crox crayons on Ebay easily enough. That's where I got mine.

Apparently links never work on this site, those must be copied and pasted into the internet address bar.

I saw some on Ebay, thank you! How big is yours from ebay? How long and how wide?

It's about 2 1/4" long and 1/2" wide. It's pretty hard and lasts forever. You also don't need much. I use my with a paddle strop (for the pastes only). My crayon was about $6 including shipping.

They may not be available through SRD anymore, but Shave Nation carries a good one. Their products are top quality.
Ebay can be hit and miss

HERE is a link to theirs.

Thanks for the link. I haven't used any stropping compounds, but I knew I should research any I considered buying to make sure the quality was there.

Is CR/OX the finest of the compounds?

Although we often assume all Chromium Oxide is the same, that may not be a good assumption. Some forms are suitable for sharpening a knife or woodworking tool, but may not be optimal for use with a razor. Thus, it is best to purchase from a vendor that indicates the product is suitable for razors. In addition to the crayons, you can purchase CrOX powder and either use it as a powder, or mix it with mineral oil to make a paste.
