    Default DMT Cards JNATS?

Hey guys what grit do you need for making a slurry with a DMT card? Coarse, Fine or Extra Fine?

    I'd go extra fine.

The finer the particle the better and also you want to do as little destruction to the jnat surface as possible.

Don't use any DMT finer than a 325 for lapping. The stones will destroy the nickel binder & strip diamonds off in the process.

For slurry production the fine DMT's lock up too quickly on the stone for my liking but it seems others are using them.

A well worn 325 DMT will leave a mirror finish on a Jnat as far as I can see but I'm an Atoma fan boy for many years now.

I use a very well worn out 325 for lapping and slurry making, it works very well for me.
I had a 1200 DMT but it does not work well, got stripped pretty fast lapping various naturals and synthetics.

I do have 2 x worn out Atoma 1200 and a worn down dmt 325
But the best I have found so far for lapping is the Shapton lapping stone and holder, they sit together and you work the stone on top.
For slurry I use an extra fine card .

    See how that works.

I'd rather use a tomo nagura.

Diamond plates never gave good results for me.
