Default First kamisori and first time honing

So, here is my kamisori edge. I'm using a cerax 1000/6000 for now. I'd like to get a finer grit stone down the road.
On the kanji side , the stone scratches all the way to the esher, from heel to tip. On the non kanji side, there is a visible spot in the middle that is not showing scratch marks, and therefore not shaving hair. I can shave easily with the top 3/4" of the blade, but the rest tugs. How can I grind this spot with no scratches?

If you do a search you'll find much material on honing kamisori on this site. It's been too long since I honed one to give advice however there is a specific routine for honing them. It's totally different than a normal razor.

I'm sure someone will come along soon with advice.

Here's Glen's video on honing kamisori which I followed very closely for my first go at honing one:

sounds like you might need to do a rolling stroke on that side possibly. Or you need to go to 1k until whole bevel has same scratch marks. I also don't have experience with kamisori so I could be wrong

I currently have three kamisori razors in my regular rotation, and Glen's method has worked very well for me. I highly recommend giving it a try.

I totally agree. Think I saw the first one from Glen. Got the little fella sharp. Cut myself!

Not sure that one's fixable. I don't know who did it but the side sans ridge (ura) is extremely worn.
First check if the razor is straight & flat. It is possible to straighten these if they are warped as they are a high %ge of soft iron but if it is just ground with a dip, it's history,,,judging from the pics. Hope I'm wrong.

It looks that way to me too but I didn't want to discourage him and the pics aren't the best for viewing either side real well.

Thanks for the help. I had to reduce the size of pics to attach, so quality isn't the best. I'll check on if it's straight or warped tomorrow.
