Thread: Pyramid

Hey guys , this might seem like a stupid question. What is lynn's pyramid when it comes to honing ? i mean how do i know when i do 3/3 1/3 1/3 . or 3/3 1/5 1/5 ,,,, basically i dont get the pattern at all , where can i find it ? or how do i understand the pyramid , and decide what are good combinations ? , even saw so sometimes 1/10 , is there like a diagram or something, or it is an experience thing.
For instance with my straigt after doing today a 1/3 1/3 1/3 , and then stroping, my shave was very nice , but just pulled a bit when going against grain, so i do not know what pyramid to do now , ? a little 1/3 ? ( i have 4k/8k stone , and paddle strop with some paste only tools)

I think 1/10 is a mistake, but you're right, it is an experience thing. If it's close, you can try another 3 x 1/3 with a little pressure on the first on, light on the second and ultra light on the third.
