Thanked: 0Honing service near Victoria, BC?
Hello everyone:
I have two straight razors that are going to need honing soon.
The first is a vintage Bonza 6/8 half-hollow round-point. This is the one I have been using the most. I have had many great shaves with it. The second is a vintage 4/8 near-wedge. I am not sure if it is my technique, but it always feels dull compared to my bigger one. It doesn't seem to matter how much I strop it.
I was going to send both razors to Classic Edge. However, I found on Phil's website that he is not accepting wedge razors. Is there anyone near Victoria, BC that can hone a wedge?
Thanks!
James
PS Both razors are in great shape BTW.

Thanked: 4826Hey James, there are a few of us around the province. I’m more than happy to hone your razors for you, but you need to understand my mail service is crazy slow, even for Canada and I have a really wierd work schedule. There is a guy in the Caribou (ppetresen)and others that are not forum members, some in Alberta. Let me know how I can be best of assistance.

Thanked: 61Hi James,
There used to be a service in Squamish called Gentleman's Blade but the business isn't around any longer. One of the guys behind it though, Cole, runs a graphic design company called White Wolf Design; if you got in touch with him he might be for hire still.
As RezDog pointed out, there are a few BC folks around. I would definitely give a go at honing your razors up for you, but I also have nowhere near the experience or skills as Rez. Still, if I can be of any help at all please let me know. Nice to see more British Columbians popping up!

I'm mid-island (Comox Valley), but I don't have any wedge experience, otherwise I would offer to help. I honed for a couple of places when I was in Alberta but haven't done anything since I moved a few years back. I'm gonna be working on my own razors to get my hand back (assuming I had one in the first place), but if you're in the hood and need a hand, feel free to PM. Same applies if there any others in the vicinity.
