    Hi guys,
    I tried new technique for honing.I used Shapton glass 1000-4000-8000 ,stropping on dia paste 0.5-0.25 and leather belt.What do you think?1000x mag.thanks.

    Looks almost like you have a foil edge on it. Did it leave you with any irritation?

    Honestly what matters more then magnification is how well it shaved but without seeing a properly honed edge at 1000x mag it becomes almost impossible to compare. Foil edge is when you've basically created a burr on the tip of the bevel. These can break off while shaving and cause mass amounts of irritation. Then again I am no pro at telling you how good an edge is based on looks.

    yes,but only with naked eye under different angles.this was kind of quick sharpening because i made it from original condition to what you see in like 40 minutes.

    i mean i was not checking it with microscope during process.when i did not saw scratches with naked eye i moved to other stone.
