I did not mean that it is all that you need for touch ups, I meant that it is as course as you should need to go for a touch up. I always follow the 8K with a coticule or escher. For touch ups the coticule would be enough. For fine tuning between test shaves when I am first honing the razor I use the Norton 8K followed by the coticule or escher.

I have one of the double sided DD hones also.... Seem to remember paying about $10 for it. I actually used my Norton Lapping stone to smooth out the surface on both sides and found two fantastic surfaces to use under all the build up.. I rarely use this little wonder unfortunately, it pretty much is for looks in the "Shave Den"... I did just take out a rough spot on the tip of one of my razors the other day though.. It worked just perfect and was handy as all get out, no setting up and soaking, just zip zip and strop strop and back to shaving....

This is a total piece of crap. Just to save you the embarrassment, I'll be willing to let you send it free of charge to me and let my reputation be at risk.

That is quite nice of you to offer, and honestly I am touched. I just can't allow myself to endanger the reputation of one that would offer such a favor.
You have earned my thanks, though.
