Hello everyone, just wondering how many of you folks hone razors in my area.

I live in the South Bay, hit me up any time! Sadly not to many but we do have some very well regarded member like Alex Gilmore in the North Bay and Voidmonster in the Peninsula. Those guys are world class in their own right IMHO.
I love to play with natural stones and have a good collection. Feel free to ask any question, if I don't know the answer I could at least point you in the right direction. but I find honing easy and have never had too big of a issue.
What stones do you have if I may ask?

Does Alex hone any longer?
I herd threw the grapevine he was doing other things and not much honing any more. He sure would get you a great edge!
But remember that when having someone hone for you, most of the time it's not going to happen on the spot in front of you unless you get someone willing to spend the time with you.
So the post office can get priority boxes anywhere in 3 days. USUALLY!
Right now I just cross my fingers on shipping. It's just Sharpening, right?

Thanked: 2Good to hear! I’m in Dublin. I wouldn’t mind connecting with folks with similar hobbies—razor collection in this case. :-)
Are there stores in the bay that carries a nice inventory of wet shaving products?

I have only found three and the best one closed about a year ago. One in San Jose but the sellection is not to good just the basic things.
A better one in Pacifica, it is a little far but if you ever want to go to the beach you can stop by. They actually have a nice sellection of soaps and brushes. Only a few straight razors but quite a few DE razors.
The best one was in Oakland but the owner retired and cut the store in half. Now they basically sell knives and basic hair barber items like clippers and such. Real shame I liked that store even if it was a little far for me.
I mainly buy online now but it is riskier buying something new without smelling it first.
I almost forgot we have a Penhalligon's in Palo Alto in the Stanford Shopping Center. I love their scents but they are pricey!
L'Occitane has a shaving line. They have a lime and lavender.
