Note that I have no personal experience with the 1K SS, but I would say play around with the ones you have now before getting the new one. In fairness, I do have the 12K and not sure that I like it.

To be honest, that guy doesn't know what he's talking about, the 1K Naniwa super stone doesn't polish it's a very efficient universally used bevel setting stone, used by the majority of straight razor users, If you want good information regarding stones for razors, then never ask a knife guy.
