    Default C-Mon: lousy shaver?

I have a C-mon blade that I've honed up on a freshly lapped Norton 4k then 8K. Finished it up on a coticule. The blade is clean without pitting or warping. My honing technique is good...I've gotten about 10 ebay specials (WB, etc)sharp enough to give me satin-like shaves. For some reason this C-mon won't give me a smooth shave...I've only been able to get it to marginally cut hair on my face. What gives? Are there some blades that won't shave well regardless of honing techniques? Is C-mon one of those blades? Thanks.

I've heard nothing but good things about these razors!
I would check and make sure you don't have a double bevel!

I have a C-Mon and its one of the best razors out there. As I recall when I got it it took quite a bit of honing to get it where it is now. They don't hone up as easy as some other razors.

I agree with what has been said already. My C-Mon Special razor shaves like a good Dubl Duck Satinedge. It should shave as good as any, and better than most when it is honed right. If you would like, you can send the razor to me for disposal .

C-Mon is a really good blade. If you got it as an a-bay deal. you will need to check it under a microscope. The edge probably needs to be taken to new steel. I have a couple of these, and sold one called a Vulcan. The are a really nice shaver and hold an edge well.

I'm the guy who bought the vulcan! It's a great razor, and has held an edge for quite some time now. Have another C-Mon Blackie I scored from ebay that I'm cleaning up right now. They're great razors, but I do agree they may take to the hone a bid different than other razors.
