Unusual hone from the Larkin Co.
I bought this hone recently because I knew that the stone is an Escher. The stone measures 6 13/16" long and 1 3/4" wide. You may not be able to make it out in the instructions but it says to make a slurry with the rubbing stone (not included
) but the space for it is clear from the size of the box. I don't know anything about the Larkin Co. but the stone is a top quality Dark Blue Escher which lapped beautifully. Soft and with a gritty slurry, I really loved working with it. I'd like to hear from the SRP brotherhood about this, do any of you know something about the Larkin Co?

I don't know doodly about the Larkin Co., but I do have to comment that you take a fine picture FWTW.

This pretty much follows on the Escher/Thuringen/MST/Muller threads we had.
There are dozens of privately branded "contract" stones that come from the Thuringen region of Germany, many from the same quarries.
Fox, Boker, Droescher, Larkin, etc....
Just like razors and strops today, while most come from the same place they often carry different names.
