Speckled Naniwa Superstones
I find when I wet my Naniwa superstones some dark speckles appear. I've been using a DMT D8C to flatten and the Naniwa dressing stone. These speckles go away when the stone dries. The photo is of the 1000, but i notice on the 5000. I think the hone is still working fine. Am I doing something wrong? Has anyone else noticed this?

Thanked: 3224You could email Naniwa and ask them directly. I have not seen this on any of my Naniwa hones.

My king 6k does that but I have no experience with Naniwas.

Looks pretty normal to me, but I only have the 8k and 12k SS. My other Naniwas are Pro/Chosera. I seem to remember whitish speckles on the 8k and 12k.

I don't think I would.worey about it. If it is not affecting performance and if it is not getting pot holes then I would consider it character.

Thanked: 13245Stop using the Dressing Stone
Use just the DMT D8C and see if that changes things"No amount of money spent on a Stone can ever replace the value of the time it takes learning to use it properly"
