Yeah, the only way to learn it and learn it well is just to do it. If you have a loupe or some good optics that will help. It doesn't need to be subatomic magnification, in fact it shouldn't be. I use one of those geek looking visor things that has the stacked lenses which gets me to 13X the way I use it. That's really more than enough. 10X is what most people use I think. That wil mainly help at the beginning and while getting the feel for it.
It's kind of like riding a bike. Once you get it, then you can start going places with it. After a while you could do it in your sleep. Honestly I hardly even look at the edges anymore to touch up. I know what it needs by the feel of the shave and I have a method I use that gets me where I want it. Very seldom do I have to go back. You have to just do it for long enough and it starts to come together. There's lots of tricks too which you pick up along the way. Just be patient, be persistent and it'll come to you. What do you have to lose? A few bad shaves. As long as you're not a bull in a china shop you can't really hurt it. Actually that's not really true but most people who mess up a razor are big oafs who could break an anvil. You get what I mean though. As long as you use common sense and pay attention you'll do fine.Last edited by PaulFLUS; 10-14-2023 at 10:52 AM.
