Thanked: 2Finally!!
Finally successfully set my fist bevel!!! I mess up a plain SR with lapping film doing a touch up,but apparently I get along with smilies. ( thank you rolling x-stroke) wonder if it is because it is very similar to the stroke used to sharpen a curved knife blade?

Thanked: 1081It's a great feeling to shave from your first bevel set to strop. Enjoy!

Can't go wrong with rolling X. I think your right about the knife. Was the same for me.

Hone toward a smile, I always say.
Begin the stroke with the toe slightly lifted, flat in the middle of the stroke, and heel slightly lifted at the end.
When you establish the bevel this way, the hones naturally follow. Avoid the frown!
