HA scary sharp system
I have a new hand american scary sharp system and was thinking about getting some of their .5 micron chromium oxide compound for the honing films. Does anybody here use this system and this compound? I'm hoping this will be a nice finishing touch to the norton 4k/8k or the coticule.
btw, does the chromium oxide have problems passing the HHT like the coticule?

Thanked: 108Lynn uses or used to use the chrome oxide paper – is that the same thing as "film"? All he had to say about it was "Wowza"!

I have the HA Scary Sharp system. I have not tried the Chromium Paper or the honing film. I do use three different magnetic leather pads pasted with Boron Carbide, Chromium Oxide, and some .25 Diamond Paste. After I have a good polished bevel from the Norton 4/8K I use these to put the icing on the cake so to speak. I start with the Boron Carbide pasted pad, then the Chromium Oxide pasted one. I have only used the .25 Diamond pasted one a few times though. Sometimes with the .25 pasted leather pad depending on the razor it makes the shave a little rough. I would love to try the paper using the grip tight paste on my magnetic glass plate, BUT the Hand American site is STILL not open for ordering.

The site is still down but they are taking orders. I got my glass smooth steel and scary sharp system from them last week and I've got some compounds coming in the mail that I ordered today. Just call up and Keith should be able to help you out. He's good people
