well I have surfed the net for honing stones and the price in the uk for Norton stones 200/1000 & 4000/8000 plus a Flattening Stone would run to around £100 - £120 ($220 - $250 ) if brought individualy. afterl looking on the forum some one spoke about getting them from the link below http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=18067 the cost including delivery to my address would be around £78 ($158) for ther starter kit which includes all the above stones. my questions are

1- is this a good kit to start honing with (remember I am a total novice)
2- are they a good company to deal with

any advice or recomendations from members would be most welcome or if any UK members of the forum know of any dealers in the UK please let me know
