Thanked: 4One step forward, Two steps back
I swear I almost had a great edge and then I lost it again. Truly frustrating. Getting a stable sharp edge on a wapi is not nearly as easy as one might hope.
One side of my bevel looks quite nice but the other is extremely thin. I think this is the reason my edge is fragile. I'm not sure what to make of it. Either wapis aren't necessarily straight or I've done something very odd.
I'm not sure how to solve it other than some aggressive honing on the thin side with the 1200 and start again.
Suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks,
Bob

Thanked: 2209Is that razor warped? On the side that has the thin bevel....does the thickness of the bevel vary?
If so then you need to use a "rolling stroke" ala Xman or Joshearl or heavyduty or else a narrow hone.Randolph Tuttle, a SRP Mentor for residents of Minnesota & western Wisconsin
