Where to buy a Norton 4K/8K in UK?
This is the last thing I need to take this razor process forward. I have been googling but can't find this hone under £60 in UK. Any UK members give me a steer?
Thanks

Which is the best place to buy them.
With shipping included it'll still be a lot cheaper than 60 pounds.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 131Bruno is right. When you are in the UK straight razors and their paraphanelia incl. hones such as the 4k/8k are best and cheapest bought online. I cant remember where I got mine but it was online. And dont forget to lap it when you get it (like I did )

I have emailed and asked for a price delivered. Problem is that customs take anything over $60 or so plus delivery and hold it for a couple of weeks, add 17.5% tax to it before they give it back to postal service who charge $26 for this slow service (used to be just $16 but has gone up). So a $65 item becomes nearly $100 by the time it reaches here. Still marginally cheaper though. Can you tell I'm Scottish? I actually just resent the price hike Royal Mail have put on for this slow service - I am a good tax paying boy!
thanks

Thanked: 131There are places in the EU which will make this less of an issue for you.... i'll scout about and edit this post when I have something.
EDIT:
You appear to be right. £60 is what I bought it for and found it for.

so its a case of whats cheaper and quicker to get, the UK one or the US one?
Incidentally the picture on that page is innacurate but the description is.Last edited by sidneykidney; 01-28-2008 at 12:38 PM.

Nortons in the UK
I ship Norton stones all over the world. I also am now offering a lapping service to flatten stones.

TBH I actually prefer Belgian beer - La Chouffe, Chimay, Orval etc. Whisky ruins my gut. Although a single glass of it oftens goes down at the last ditch and ruins my next day. Nearly called our daughter Islay right enough as she was conceived not a stones throw from the Bowmore distillery and whisky had its part to play I remember - but you don't need to know that, I'll just get ma jacket...

Bought mine from these people:
classichandtools.com
£54.50. I paid just over £40 for mine but I bought it at the Westonbirt Festival of the Tree where they had an offer on in the woodworking tools tent! never expected to buy a Norton there. I only went to play for the morris team...
