Each person needs to do whatever it takes to get the edge where they want it. Unfortunately, there is no recipe.
    +1 to Randy and Jscott.
It takes me longer than that on the coticule, I KNOW I don't have a great edge from the Norton 8K (I'm Norton challenged ), everybody's different when it comes to what they want in a shaving edge, and there's not a single recipe for success.
Wow, that felt good to say

    +Randy, JScott and Dewey.

Takes me waaay more than 15 strokes on the coticule.

I just hone by 'feel'. You can kinda feel it bite into the coticule when it's ready for the strop.

    Shave those arms!!
