    Default New hone question

I bought a new hone from ebite for 14$ and it was blue. So of course I couldn't pass up the chance of having a new hone! I attached a picture of it and i'm still working on lapping it since I don't think it's been lapped since the 30s and there's a huge dip in the middle. It is easily lapped and produces a slurry quickly but I just don't have the time tonight to stay up any later finishing the lapping. Anyone have an idea what it is?

Also while i started lapping, it left some discolouration on my DMT which I attached as well, but it doesn't show as well as in person. How do you go about cleaning this type of mess? I've tried a nylon brush and lots of scrubbing and it doesn't do anything...any ideas?

sorry for the bad pics, my camera just does not like to take images as easily as I would like...soon I'll buy a SLR to get decent pics

    thanks

You could use oven cleaner on the hone to remove oil / dirt. Worked well on my barber hone when I was a newer noob
You could have a Belgian Blue - do you know if it's a natural or manmade hone?

It's a natural stone, but doesn't look like a belgian blue. It is slightly more gray/greenish than my belgian. I will have to take a razor to it and look at the marks it leaves on the bevel soon I guess!
