Thread: Chinese 12k

I have used wet dry sand paper 600grit on a piece of glass to lap the 12K. It takes a little longer to to get this lapped because the stone is very hard, but once there it will serve you well

I just got a 12k from woodcraft this past week. tok it out of the box, used one of there straight edges to check it out. Brought it home, Lapped it on 600 paper for about ten minutes, pencil grid was gone. I put another grid on it to double check and it was gone within a minute. Honed up a razor and I like it. Get one, it's cheap and it works.

With wet-dry sandpaper, I lap with the finish side down and the weight of the stone is the pressure.

How do you lap with a DMT or hone-size implement?
