    Default Yippy...well sorta.

So my flattening stone got here yesterday! She is pretty!!!

Trouble is, after the "Ordering the wrong stone" fiasco, I don't have a stone to lap with it. LOL . So, now all I have to do it find a Norton 4/8k for a good price and I should be up and running for the resto project I just picked up from Sarty24!

Here are some pics of the flattening stone for those who might want to see one. (I doubt anyone here has not, but for the new guys that haven't)

I use mine at least twice a week. After the initial flattening it is much easier to keep a stone flat if you touch it up frequently. If your stone feels like it isn't cutting, then it isn't. To touch up a stone, I hold the flattening stone and the hone under running water as I move the stone. It is easy to see when your done and as the water clears the grindings, it cuts the hone quickly.
