    Question Honing; How often?

    Hi team.

How often do you hone your razor, if you're using it every day?
I'm sure it depends on the razor and the face, but give me a ballpark figure for you...
(sorry if this has already been covered, but the search won't search for words that small)

I do think I've read a post from Lynn about it, I believe it was around 2-3 months, depending on stropping etc.

Whenever it starts to tug a little too much on my stubble, i'll go and tidy her up on the coticule.

+1, only I use a different hone for touch up. (I'm going to try paste the next time it happens)

I don't use the same razor every day, but I'm guessing I get 30 or more shaves before stropping no longer "brings the edge back".

I am counting the shaves I get out of my silversteel Dovo, as we speak: It has 11 shaves on the counter and "still going strong".
I strop 20 on canvas and 40 on clean leather before each shave.
My beard is of the coarse type.

I have the feeling the blade is still smoothing out with each shave.
As soon as it pulls even the least bit, I 'll call it a day and release the coticule out of its drawer.

I wonder: why do you wonder?

PS. the search function is a pain in the ass. Try searching for "DMT", or for "HHT", or for "red" paste, or for "W&B"

    Have a great day,
    Bart.

I shave with the same razor everyday, and the edge lasts for
a least 2 months, probably more. If you find your edge losing
it's sharpness relatively quickly, this may be due to insufficient
    stropping (particularly on the linen).

The edge of a good razor lasts for at least 2-3 months.
If you find your edge losing it's sharpness relatively quickly, this may be due to wrong stropping or wrong shaving technique or both.
