    Default What I want to try after the norton 8K

    How you all doing guys, Im starting to hone my own straights now & would like some advice if the way I intend to hone will be ok.I intend to try this way as I have these materials available.
    After the norton 4K/8K I will go to the spyderco UF stones,then to a 0.5 diamond paste strop.
    Then strop on plain linen & final strop of around 50 Laps on plain leather strop.Will this be a good procedure or am I doing something wrong if I go this way.

    not doing anything wrong at all. Try skipping the Spynerco or the .5 diamond some time though, see if it makes any differenc, or even skip both and see how you like the 8k edge. some guys stop at all these places and like the shaves just fine.
