Being a newb it was hard to nail down what exactly an appropriate hone setup would be. Such as the dmt-e, bbw, coticule, or the diamond hones, or the nortons, it was all a little confusing and overwhelming. It wasnt clear what a good setup would be and how the finishing hones would fit in like the shapton, chinese, barbers, ecsher, 16k 12k 15 14 etc. It would be helpful if the setup would be better clarified. For instance, what would be a good finishing hone if with the diamond hones? I understand there is a lot of personal preference but if somehow that could be more clear it would be awesome. There was a article in the wiki section that was very helpful so I'm not sure if that started as a thread but I think it would be great to include that.

Also some links to trusted merchants might be good.
Great idea by the way, a comprehensive guide to honing. Thanks to all of the members of SRP!Last edited by flampen85; 02-26-2009 at 11:59 PM.
