    Default Back of Swaty

I have eight 3 line swatys and they all appear to be the exact same grit front and back.

I experimented for a while with the front, and now I use the back exclusively because it has more area.

No other finishing stone needed as far as I am concerned.

Oh by the way, since 3 line swatys are no longer in vogue, I have been picking them up on ebay and other places real cheap.

The last 4 I bought for about $5.00 each.

Quite a bargain, especially since in my humble opinion they do a much better job than my $100.00 yellow useless coticule.

I've got a 2 line Swaty on the way, and I was wondering what grit stone I should use to lap it. I thought I saw that most people lap with a coarse DMT DiaSharp, but the Swaty instructions referenced above suggest using a fine grit. Any thoughts?

Also, a lot of you say that you have multiple Swatys. What do you do with them all?

You could always post it in the Buy Sell Trade forum. I know someone would snap it up in a second.

I use a DMT 325grit, and have never had a problem. I just hold them under running water and go nuts. as far as I can tell, it didn't break the swaty to be lapped that way

I used to really like it until I figured out the Swaty. I'll probably keep it to experiment with. I still might be doing something wrong.

The Swaty arrived sooner than I'd expected, and I hadn't had a chance to pick up a DMT yet. I figured I'd try rubbing another relatively fine stone against the Swaty. I penciled them both, and now they're both flat. Didn't take too long, so I'm guessing the Swaty must have been pretty close.
