Well it's wrecked and worthless. For a small fee I will dispose of it for you.
I'd probably glue it back together, unless the surfaces that were glued are pretty flat. If they are, you might as well lap those and, presto changeo, you have two stones.

Thanked: 1212In the old days, the glue used for coticules was based on beeswax. I would definitely glue it back to a base. The coticule side can be very fragile and breaks easlily in two or more pieces.
Whether you glue it back to its original blue is up to you. You can also glue it to any other stone, or even wooden back. (as long as you use a flooring glue suited for gluing natural paving) Make sure to clean the beeswax gunk of the stones first. Maybe a little bit of sanding with rough sandpaper to get a clean surface.
If you really want to keep it plain and simple, use general purpose hot glue from a glue gun. I've glued test coticules to a piece of wood with just a few small dots of it, and had to go through a lot of trouble to separate it again.

Thanked: 3795I've got a few glued stone and I have been lucky that they all seem secure. For the rest of us, do you have any idea what caused it to come apart? You didn't soak it, did you?

As Bart said use a glue suitable for stone flooring(marble, granite) and keep the coticle stable and the entire stone vintage as you found it. BTW what did you pay?
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

No, I didn't soak it. I am too embarrassed to tell you exactly what I was doing with it. Let's just say that I wasn't using it exactly as designed.
