Default A little damage my hone

Tis is my 2. hone. I think it is a 4000/8000, but what brand I don't know. The problem was that there was a little hole in the middle of the hone. About 2mm...

The was the first time I was lapping a hone when I saw this "hole". Anyway, I only had sandpaper, so I used A LOT sandpaper and the damage was gone in about 3 hours of lapping.

So for future reference I was wondering if anyone has an idea on how to make this process faster?
I have a lot of patience, but this was really gnawing on it...

    Use very coarse wet sandpaper.
Use a very coarse DMT plate.

There is no miracale solution. a 2 mm hole will take a lot of time to get rid off if you don't have any stone cutting power tools.

As soon as you discovered the hole, you should have sent the hone, right back to where it came from.

Thats certainly what I would have done.
