I need some cross-checking please...
I just finished honing my 7/8 friodur INOX Stainless. My first stainless razor to hone. Here's how I progressed:
4K Norton till passing TNT. I wasn't popping hairs on the arm though.
8K Norton still passing TNT, still not popping hairs yet.
Yellow coticule and I can really hear it cutting metal, I didn't hear that on the coticule. Starting to pop hairs though.
30 laps on a CrO2 pasted strop, popping hairs now.
30 laps TM Latigo and it's mowing hairs down. I love that sound. Chink chink chink
I was just a little thrown by not passing the TPT till further up the ladder.
Is this OK to not pop hairs till the leather, or should I spend more time with the 4K?
Thanks,
Randy

If it's giving you a great shave, I wouldn't worry about when it starts to mow hairs.

No worries. My razors really need stropping before they pop hairs nicely. They will at an earlier stage but with more difficulty and less consistency.

Thanks for the replies.
I can see a good bevel in the microscope off the 4K, 8K and yellow. I have no problem with the TNT, but that TPT seems to be a bit more elusive.
O.K. it's good to have a baseline.
Thanks!
