    Randy, I did rince it well and then rinced it again just to be sure. Thanks.

    Johnny J, Removing the glaze makes sense. i was expecting the stone to be the same but flat. I swear, I'm running out of paper writing down all the stuff I am learning here.

    Today I received a coticule and a D8C from Howard. I lapped the coticule and the 4/8 and the 12 with the D8C and coiuld not beleive the difference. All the surfaces felt excatly the same as they did before the Norton lapping stone and they were perfectly flat. It costs more than twice as much, but it certainly performed more than twice as well. That's my 2/100ths of a dollar, anyway.

    I use sandpaper, seems to work ok since i don't lap very often
