Default Am I the only one?

Am I the only one with a nearly bald left arm?

For some reason I found the easiest way for me to take a will not cut butter if thuroughly heated antique store find up to shave ready is to run it over the nine hundred grit stone until it with very uncomfortably shave a bit of hair of my left arm, slap it on the 2500 until it comfortably shaves hair off my arm and then bump it up to the 9000 grit until it passes the HHT with flying colours and then take it to my pasted strop for a couple quick licks.

As a result, having honed about 5 razors a month for the last two or three months, my left arm looks like a field at an expierimental farm. Full length hair here and there, totally bald in patches, and patches of hair in various lengths between bald and regular length all over my arm. :P

So, does anyone else do anything like this, or am I the only idiot who tests his razor on his arm time and time again while honing? :P

I have a large tattoo of a nude woman on my left shin area. I test there as a courtesy to the young lady.

I used to have that as well, when I was learning to hone, and sometime afterwards. And I discovered that the hair on my legs needs a LONG time to grow back
These days I use the Thumb nail test to judge when the bevels are good.
Then I do a progression on the 4000/8000 + coticule, or on my Japanese stones, followed by a testshave.

The way the water interacts with the razor tells me when it is ready for a testshave.
These days I virtually never need to hone anymore after the first test shave.
Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.
