Thread: hone question help

i am having quite a difficult time honing my livi regrind to a proper sharpness. I have been using my norton 4/8 and my 3 inch yellow but have not yet championed the razor. can some one please tell me what i should do for this exact razor. thank you

I have two Livi regrinds and they sharpen up very easily for me and are such great shavers that your question left me perplexed for a few minutes. After some thought, the only thing that occurs to me is to ask you if your Norton and yellow (coticule?) have been lapped. If the surface of the hone isn't flat, this could make it difficult to get a sharp edge. But, if you already know all that, perhaps you should ask whoever you bought it from. Did you purchase it from SRD? In that case, it would have come pre-honed and I would ask Lynn. If you didn't buy it from Lynn, you could also write directly to Mastro Livi, livicoltellerie@libero.it. Whoever you bought it from should be able to determine what the problem is. But, in any case, when you figure out what the problem is, please report back because I'm very concerned.
