Thanked: 2209Ted and the microscope...
Hello all,
One of our new guys, Ted, stopped over to my place today and we honed up his Goldedge and talked about honing, hones and razors (what else did you expect?).
Ted was a keen observer of the honing process and kinda fell in love with the microscope! ( he is a former biology nut..errrr major).
Anyway, he said he will try to help me find an camera adapter for the microscope so I can take pics.
Here is a link to 3 pics if you want to see larger sizes.

Wow you guys are killing me with all these stones, strops and a microscope to boot. I'm jealous, here I am with just a Norton 4/8k and a DMT fine and of course one strop. But anyways, nice setup. Well I'm not that far away from Howard, although I don't him personally maybe I'll give him a call one of these days as I'm in need of some more stuff.

I see you moved the stones to a sturdier table, were you afraid the other one would collapse?

Until Ted gets that adapter, you might try using an ordinary digital camera through the eyepiece. I've had pretty good luck this way, although it can be hard to get the camera to focus on the part you're trying to photograph.

Thanked: 2209Naw, I just brought out the big scope and the wooden box filled with my best barber hones so I ran out of room! But.....I have an 8 ft table to bring out the next time then I can display the rest of my hones! But I need a 2 wheel hand truck/cart to move them first. ...........Still don't know where to put the razors

*chuckle* Thanks for the opportunity to Geek Out, I've missed microscopes! The most amazing thing to me was seeing how you could get a razor to pass the hanging hair test even with a careful honing of sandpaper.
