Hi i have a kitiyama whats the best way to give this stone a good flatterning i have used a norton flaterning stone on the kitiyama 12k in the past i'm not sure if i should be using the norton .any advice would be use ful.

There are many ways of doing it. If you've done it in the past you can continue to do the same if it worked for you. Some might use a glass plate with sand paper, I use a shapton flattening plate with grit.
By the way I have the same hone and when I got it it needed no flattening it was dead straight. I don't use it much but it does work fine as is.No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
