Thanked: 3JNAT
I am looking to get into honing and doing the youtube research came across this video
Couple of crazy things. First he goes from dulling on glass to popping hairs with one slurry and one dilution. That is crazy, is this possible with JNATs? All of them?
How about the arm stropping, SUPER crazy.

Thanked: 177Every stone is different even if they are called the same. A jnat is IMO the most capable stone for the keenest edge for a razor. Dulling on glass with a shave ready razor is easy to put back into shaving sharp as there's not as much metal to move as setting a bevel from scratch. Its a learning curve though so if you do get in, be prepared for some frustration. Its all worth it in the end IMO. You would need a set of nagura stones and a tomo and a bevel setter unless you have a lot of free time to set one on a jnat.

I'm thinking when it comes down to it, you could strop on just about anything. I've done it on my pants. Nothing crazy, but just to clean it up, remove oil or moisture or when I didn't have something on hand.
Didn't watch the video. Was it an X-stroke? LOL
eGad! I just watched the video with the stropping part.Last edited by Siguy; 10-25-2013 at 11:56 PM. Reason: I WATCHED THE STROPPING@@$#^@!!
